This past Wednesday was one of the most exciting days we've had in a while. Though I woke up and it felt like any other day, I decided to go for a run, something I'm quite proud of. I started running again on Wednesday after having stopped for a couple of months and it just felt great. I ran a little over 2 and a half miles and since then, I've kept at it. I want to keep this habit up as opposed to just going full speed now and burning out. So far, so good. I also had a healthy breakfast, another thing I am happy about because I've just been eating so unhealthy since we got to New York. Lately, I fill up on whole foods like fruits and veggies. But the best news for me on Wednesday was that I finally got a job, something I didn't expect to happen so soon but I am oh so glad that it did. Not only am I officially employed but I am employed at the world's largest no-kill shelter and adoption organization for animals. It feels good to be working for a company that does so much good for animals and the fact that I am next door to so many cute puppies doesn't hurt either.
For Christmas, I gave Michael two New York Knicks shirts and a pair of tickets to a game which happened to be on Wednesday. It was an exciting morning for Michael as well, having gotten his JD in the mail, and he has been working so hard at studying that the game couldn't have come at a better time. We were more than happy to take the night off to go to Madison Square Garden where the Knicks won against the Magic and we even met up with a friend visiting from California. We went to a cute little rooftop bar called Vu Rooftop Bar and it happened to be right next to the Empire State Building. The view was ridiculously awesome. I snapped a few pics but it was cloudy so I can't wait to go back on a clearer night, maybe even when its lit up in all kinds of colors.
Things have been looking up and I just feel really lucky. Now I can finally relax and plan something amazing for Valentine's Day. Do any of you have plans yet?

Great pictures of the Empire State building and awesome work on landing a job!! Also, keep working at the running. I understand the whole burn out thing with it though, I was running about 14-5 miles a run and then I swore it off because the treadmill felt like a prison(the air quality in Seoul is so terrible that running outside makes me sick) I have been running for a couple months now and have been applying the same thought process that you are using and it has been working out great. :)
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm definitely trying to keep at it. It doesn't help when its freezing outside though haha
DeleteI need to start running again. It always feels good, but it;s honestly just too cold right now. Once it warms up, I can't wait to get out there.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear things are looking up for you (:
