Does anybody really like January anyway? The holidays are over and we're on to worrying about how to celebrate Valentine's Day. We've started (and stopped) doing our resolutions. It's really a month of goals and how to accomplish them and we're all trying to be focused and keep our eye on the prize. Which I like! I love January but if there is one thing that I don't like about January is that it's right in the middle of winter.
Though I expected snow in New York at this point, the weather has been great. I can now fully appreciate fifty degree weather in California and laugh at the thought that I ever needed a heavy coat. Also, aside from pajamas, which is what I use to sit in front of the computer and job search (send me positive vibes, guys!), the outfit above has been on heavy rotation. It seems almost impossible to tear off my Hunter Rain boots, seeing as how they are useful in all kinds of weather. Plus, I've never owned a legitimate pair of rain boots so yes, I act like I'm five years old when I see a puddle and marvel at the fact that my feet are still dry. It's also useful to chase a puppy around in the front yard and... very easy to get dog poop off of them. Ugh. Here's the goods.
1.The cableknit is a classic in winter. I wish I had one in all the colors of the rainbow because they're so cute! And because I'm starting to realize that, being from California, I really underestimated how much winter clothes I really had.
2.This YSL Coat is gorgeous and classic, right? Who am I kidding, I didn't shell out the $1450 for this but I bought an identical one from Forever 21 about a year ago that has been in hibernation since then. I busted it out for the winter.
3. Oh Hunter boots, you have been amazing to me since the minute I bought you. Also, they're emerald green, which is Pantone's 2013 Color of the Year so booyah. Luckily, I bought mine on sale from Nordstroms Rack about two months ago. They were $50 dollars and the best purchase I have ever made. I don't think I'll find something on sale as highly discounted as these.
4.And finally, a nice pair of skinny jeans, not bootcut, to avoid bunching.
What are you guys wearing this winter?

DeleteI really need to get some rain boots. I've been living in the country for over a year now and I still don't have any rain proof shoes :D
ReplyDeleteHunters are definitely the way to go!
DeleteHaha I can relate on the winter clothes! I had no idea how ill-prepared I was for the east coast until I moved! It's taken me forever to build up my winter wardrobe to a point where I'm not afraid to go outside. :)
ReplyDeleteLol yes I'm definitely in the same boat!
DeleteMy birthday month is January so I'm biased and love it...but I'm SO not a winter girl so other than that, I see what you mean :) Love that sweater so much... I'm wearing a maternity version of it now!

DeleteI don't mind January so much...but only because I don't live in the snow or extremely chilly parts of the country! I love these items you chose though. It definitely helps brighten up the month! =)
